Will ruin my acrilic nails.?

i just got so me fakes from the nail salon

will they come off if i go swimming? Will ruin my acrilic nails.?
If they were done properly by a skilled tech, you will be just fine. Water will not affect your acrylic nails.

DB, you have it backwards. It is not water that causes lifting. Lifting is caused by improper prep 99% of the time, and water has absolutely no bearing on it. If a nail has what is called 'pocket' lifting, that is where the problem comes in and water can, and often will get in between the space between the acrylic nail and the natural nail. And this will usually result in a minor case of the 'greenies.'Will ruin my acrilic nails.?
No you'll be ok ;0)
no
uhh. they shouldn't. They made them so you can take a shower, so no they won't come off if you go swimming.
Nope :)

They are waterproof, so you can shower too :P
You should be OK if it is just occasional swimming. If you swim regularly, sometimes the water can seep under the edge of the acrylic nails, causing lifting at the edges.

Edit: Hi Rachel - I still think that water does weaken artificial nails if there is prolonged exposure, it's the simple physical property of water. If it can cause erosion of land, and carve the Grand Canyon, over time it does seep into any small opening. Because natural nails are flexible and change their own shape (expanding as they absorb water), that will cause microscopic gaps between the acrylic and the nail, where water can start to enter between the two.
