For me I rather soak the nails in like medium hot water. Then the gel or the glue melts, and you can take something like a nail file or something sharp but not that sharp and lift the nails up, its not painful. Its very easy to do.
soak them in vegetable oil and nail polish remover. it won't be fast but it will come off easy so it won't tear up ur nails
