Acrilic, gel or natural NAILS ?

ive had acrilic nails about three times and i was just wondering if there worth the money again?

a full set costs 40

not including white tips, colour, nail art,

its only 25 for refils

which is better Gel ?

i used my hands alot and i was wondering which are stronger?

i have long nails now and there white tips aswell. natural.

what would u rather ?

and whats better ?Acrilic, gel or natural NAILS ?
do UV gel!Acrilic, gel or natural NAILS ?
I think that if you're looking at cost, Gel would be the better choice.

They might cost more than acrylics, but you can go about 4-5 weeks without getting fills (assuming you don't wear colour on them). They also don't yellow, so you can keep getting fills done.

As for strength, I think that if you're looking to have really long nails, acrylics would be stronger. If you just want regular length or even just natural overlays (gel put on without tips), gels will be fine. They'll look more natural too.

I became a gel girl 2 years ago. I never looked back ;)
haha gosh i use to always get acrylic nails for like 4 years, but then i thought about the money and i thought it was a waste. i mean gel is better, but its more expensive. where i live you could get cheap acrylics for like 20 bucks and they do it good. id say just pain your nails yourself its better than spending all that money. a full set cost 40 and its not including white tips and etc? so how much is the grand total for that sheez. soo expensive. where r u frm? i started to just do my own nails .

answer please

I get acrylic every three weeks, but i dont need tips or anything bc its my real nail, but for all of it its about 35.... and I love my nails, they NEVER break and always stay looking good until my next appointment. I would say acrylic.
Whoa, where do you get your nails done?!

i get mines full set (including everything) for $20, lol.

but i like natural better

:)
I don't like fake nails.

I like natural nails, painted one natural color, or a bunch of crazy colors:D
natural bacause fake nails damage your nails and depending on how they are done they can look cheap.
any kind of fake nails seem plastic-y and cheap to me...

False/acrilic/gel ect nails......help?

Hi does anyone know of a good site wjich will teach me Nail art and how to do acrilic nails ect??? like step by step instructions? it's just i spend a fortune getting them done and would love to learn how to do em.False/acrilic/gel ect nails......help?
Learning to do your own nails is a money saver in the long run if you regualrly have acrylic nails. I did a proper course to learn but I still go and get mine done as I like the pampering! I can't recommend any sites but I can recommend a book - the encyclopedia of nails by Jacqui Jefford and Anne Swain. This is the book I used on my course and it covers everything you need to know including nail problems, diseases. Correct prep, correct application of acrylic, fibreglass %26amp; gel and some nail art. You can buy it in Waterstones as well as online, but obviously if you get a second hand copy it will be cheaper.

Acrilic nails?

i have had acrilic nails on for a while and i was wondering how do i get them off?Acrilic nails?
DO NOT PULL THEM OFF, you have to soak them in acetone (nail polish remover), you could just go to the salon and they could do it for youAcrilic nails?
Go to the store and get pure acetone, VERY flammable keep away from heat. Soak fingernails in it, after awhile of soaking, use something to scrape away the acrylic nails. It will take awhile to do this, be patient.
Eventually they'll start getting lose. You don't really want to wait that long though, because if air and water get trapped underneath them, your nail bed could become infected.

Go have them removed at the place you got them at.
go to your salon and they will soak them off for you for a small charge.

or...........

buy the aceatone solution yourself and do your own soaking but do be prepared to be soaking for a long time so put in a movie or something. afterwards, your nails will be very thin and paper like so you gently buff and file them. not too hard though as you will be very tender on your nail beds. i find it best to go my technician and have him remove them.
mine started comming off on thier own. one came off and over the next few days i took the rest of them off. you can always go to the nail shop you had them done, or another one and have them take them off for you.
Umm pull them off
To take acrylic nails off, you could

a: go to the nail shop and they will soak them off cost about $10

b: soak them off yourself w. acetone (put in bowl and soak them untill the nail is loose and falls off) only about $3, but takes a while

c: just clip the ends off and if the nails are grown out, they should come off easily
go back to the place u had them done and they will remove them
when you get nails.... you soak them in nail polish remover... it takes a while... but if you go to the nail shop it's like 3 dollars... but yea nail polish remover will work

I have mold on some of my finger nails I wear Acrilic Nails. Why is that happening.?

What is causing my nails to get mold on them. I am wearing fills.I have mold on some of my finger nails I wear Acrilic Nails. Why is that happening.?
Because the nail place you go to sucks! Water must be getting underneath the acrylic. You need to get those nails off and get something for nail fungus quick!I have mold on some of my finger nails I wear Acrilic Nails. Why is that happening.?
Any shop that does nails can sell you a bottle of stuff to remove the mold, brush it on once or twice a day till the mold is gone, this happened because your nail lifted and moisture got under the fake nail
Mold can be caused by the nail techs not applying the acryllic properly. this can allow too much water to get in between the acryllic and natural nail.

At this point, if you don't remove the fake nails, you will damage your nails forever. Take the acryllics off and leave them off for about 3 months. In the mean time find a really good nail salon--(you have to pay a little more for the good stuff) and continue to get regular manicures --no acryllics--once week or once every two weeks.

You need to let your natural nails heal.
the reason y is because you've had them on too long, and water and air is making that happen... take them off for a couple of weeks and do it again!
First I would remove those nails or at least soak your nails in perxiode. Check when your getting your nails done that the nail implements are clean!! Call your nail tech.
I agree with Lady Bug. Get those nails off pronto! See a doctor if need be to take care of the mold.

If you insist on having (fake nails), make sure the place is spotless before using them. Never return to where you were/are going to.

I used to have my nails done every couple of weeks (I used gel), and I never had that problem. I stopped because my nails were getting weak. I prefer them short and strong. It also saves money.

Good luck.

Cutting acrilic (sp) nails?

ok i have my nails done but they are too long could i cut them with big nail clippers? if not is there any way i could make them shorter without going to the nail place?Cutting acrilic (sp) nails?
Don't cut them with nail clippers,

it could ruin the acrylic. What I do when

I get my nails done if they are too long

I just use a hard nail file (they make them for

acrylic nails) and it works really good, always keep

the shape to the nails they gave you.

My friend just got some acrylic nails too and

she was asking about the same thing lol, and

she has the same name as you! Except her

last name doesn't start with a B.

Good luck!Cutting acrilic (sp) nails?
you have to file them down. DO NOT try and cut them with nail clippers! it will be a disaster! ...and you possibly could injure urself

if filing doesnt work you have to go into the nail salon and they will cut them for you. (with a special acrylic cutter)
You have to file them hun ... if you cut them with a nail clipper it will ruin your acrylics like crack/shatter them.
Use a dremel and file them down.

Gel nails or acrilic?????

personally, go with gel. they are worth the extra time and money. when a gel nail breaks off, it leaves the natural nail in better condition. i use to have acrylic and i made the switch. i was happy with it. when i decided i was done with the whole nail thing, i took the gel off and my nails didn't go through that ugly, weak, and brittle phase like they did with the acrylic.Gel nails or acrilic?????
i've gotten both and i can tell you that personally i didn't like the gel nails at all.. they were very time consuming, having to be put on layer by layer and honestly they didn't look that great, they were too thick and scratched much more easily than the acrilic nails i had had in the past..

~*good luck*~

Hlep with my acrilic nails!!!!!!! (pics)?

okk so i got acrylic nails today (french tips) they are kinda long my a12 y/o girl but normal size for like an 18 y/o girl. n e ways, i paid 20 bucks for a full set and i am a little worried about how strong my nails are. are they strong enough to scrub my hair kinda hard when i wash it? cuz i have to take a shower and i dont wanna break em. also i got a french pdiicure painted on for 20 bucks....will they color chip away in the shower? hhhhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeelllllllllppppppppp鈥?br>

they look like this:

%26lt;a href=';http://photobucket.com'; target=';_blank';%26gt;%26lt;img src=';http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a鈥?border=';0'; alt=';Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket';%26gt;%26lt;/a%26gt;Hlep with my acrilic nails!!!!!!! (pics)?
So, I do my own acrylic nails and when I'm done I do just about anything with them. Just don't try to pry things open with them. But washing your hair is perfectly fine. About the toes. If you want them to last longer just put a coat of clear polish on every couple of days for about 4 times or so. My polish lasts atleast 2 weeks on my toes.Hlep with my acrilic nails!!!!!!! (pics)?
Hi!!!! im sure that your nails will be fine....they tend to feel alittle weak the first day or two because your nail beds arent used to the pressure. If you give it a few days you should be fine. As far as your feet go, they should be fine too.
You should be just fine doing normal day to day things. Don't use your nails as tools.
ok so from the look of them, their not that long, and they should be strong enough to wash your hair and give your scalp a good scrub. as far as the french polish on your toes? they should also be fine, but with polish it will chip if you kick something, and your toes will last longer than fingers will if your fingernails were polished. but your nails are pink and white acrylic. so go ahead, take your shower. enjoy.
just do normal stuff and if they fall out go back and tell them
Well for 20 bucks they are probably not the best quality ever~ So just be carefull! By the way, they look cute!

xxoo

Cloe
For the first day, don't scrub, just gently massage your shampoo into your hair, and don't put any extra pressure on your new nails for about two days. After that your nails should be normal (just like a second nail), where you can do almost anything in them

I got acrilic nails on Saturday. They cost me $25 bucks + extra $10 for design. Most places cost 25, but depending on the design-you'll pay extra. {:Acrilic Nails (help)??
tips should be about $30-$40. $5. extra for french tips. They will look ok for about 3 weeks, then your growth will start showing at your cuticle area.
if you want a DECENT PROFESSIONAL job done then go to a real nailshop. but if you want a cheap job done and fake nails that will ruin your nails then go where your planning to go. itll probably cost 15-20 dollars. thats something even YOU can afford.
    they last about 2-3 weeks

    and cost about $20-30.

    Getting acrilic nails while pregnant??

is is bad to get acrilic nails while pregnant???Getting acrilic nails while pregnant??
No but if the nail salon has that strong odor to it just wear a mask or stay close to the window/door where you can get fresh air.Getting acrilic nails while pregnant??
No it's not! I have some on right now!

    Will ruin my acrilic nails.?

i just got so me fakes from the nail salon

will they come off if i go swimming? Will ruin my acrilic nails.?
If they were done properly by a skilled tech, you will be just fine. Water will not affect your acrylic nails.

DB, you have it backwards. It is not water that causes lifting. Lifting is caused by improper prep 99% of the time, and water has absolutely no bearing on it. If a nail has what is called 'pocket' lifting, that is where the problem comes in and water can, and often will get in between the space between the acrylic nail and the natural nail. And this will usually result in a minor case of the 'greenies.'Will ruin my acrilic nails.?
    No you'll be ok ;0)
    no
uhh. they shouldn't. They made them so you can take a shower, so no they won't come off if you go swimming.
    Nope :)

They are waterproof, so you can shower too :P
You should be OK if it is just occasional swimming. If you swim regularly, sometimes the water can seep under the edge of the acrylic nails, causing lifting at the edges.

Edit: Hi Rachel - I still think that water does weaken artificial nails if there is prolonged exposure, it's the simple physical property of water. If it can cause erosion of land, and carve the Grand Canyon, over time it does seep into any small opening. Because natural nails are flexible and change their own shape (expanding as they absorb water), that will cause microscopic gaps between the acrylic and the nail, where water can start to enter between the two.

    Acrilic nails?

    what happens?

are they fake nails or real?

    how much does it cost?

what does it mean to get it filled in?

please tell me im so confused

    thanks in advance!Acrilic nails?
well i know alot about acrylic nails seeing as i have had them for almost a year now, ok first they will glue on a white nail tip and ask you the length you want them, then they will get out this powder and liquid then dip the brush in liquid then powder, and it becomes this blob, then shape it on the nail it dryes very quickly and becomes hard, then they shape it and the stuppid buffing block is alil painful, but beauty is pain, and its bearable, they are FAKE! lol, it is rly expensie but they r worth it bcuz they r so pretty!! um depends on the salon but for the set its about 30-35$ plus a tip, every 2 weeks you need to get them filled, that is just because you nail grows out they need 2 put more acrlic on and the nails also they start to crack on the edges, this is about 15-20$ plus tip then airbrusing as needed, you will need a new set every few months because they start to turn yellow, especially if you wait to long for the fill any questions just email me

they r very easy to get used to, i type with them lolAcrilic nails?
they are fake nails. it depends on where you get them done but most cost around $ 25.00 to $ 35.00 to have a set put on. when you get them filled in it is where your real nail grows out so the acrilic moves down along with your real nail so you have to have them filled in again with more acrilic so it looks natural. a fill in usually costs between $ 15.00 to $ 20.00
acrylic nails are fake. in my area they run about $18-and up.

they attache the acrylic to your nail (with glue), they use a little sander thing to smooth it down. as your real nails grow, you get a fill, to fill in the space between the acrylic and your cuticle.

i hope that helps, i haven't gotten it done in so long, i have kinda forgotten the routine.
They put an acrylic overlay overtop of your real nail and use a tip to make the length you want. Usually a full set is anywhere between 15-40 dollars depending on where you go. You are suppose to get them filled in about every 2 weeks and that means they just fill in where they have grown out to keep them looking good and to prevent bacteria growth.
    there fake nails

it all depends what u get on them

    the hightest is $30

like put a desine on them

lol it ok to be confued
Well they are acrylic, so yes they are fake. I had them once. I had sculptured acrylic nails. So, the lady would build up a nail over my natural one with acrylic, and then it would harden and she would then file them into whatever shape and length you want. A fill is when your natural nails begin to grow there is a small space between the bottom of your nail and the acrylic nail, so you go in to he salon and the lady will fill that section with acrylic and fix any other problems. Mine cost $60 to being and each fill was $40. This was a great salon. I just wanted my natural nails back though so i had them taken off.
1.they can be a overlay on your nail or tip with acrylic over the top

    2.Approx $55 AU

    3.Gel is totally diff.

    Removing Acrilic Nails?

I need a way to femove my arcilic nails...but i can't get to the store any ideas that are qiuck and easyRemoving Acrilic Nails?
You will need acetone if you want to do it correctly. There are no fast ways to do it without tearing or biting them off, which will make your nails look like hell.Removing Acrilic Nails?
Everyone wants nails to be proud of so if yours are less than perfect here are a few quick tips to get them in great condition in no time. Stunning nails

Apply nail varnish remover before doing your nails even if don鈥檛 need to remove any old polish, it prepares the nails by removing any grease so that your polish will last longer

If you鈥檙e having trouble achieving the perfect French Manicure try using a white nail pencil underneath the nail tip instead of white polish you鈥檒l find it鈥檚 much easier

Give your nail varnish plenty of time for each layer to dry to ensure a lasting finish. If you鈥檙e likely to get impatient waiting around opt for a quick drying formula like Lancome Vernis Instant Magnetic or L鈥橭real Jet Set

Always wipe the top of the nail varnish bottle with a cotton bud to get rid of any excess polish, this will prevent the bottle from becoming glued shut

Lots of beauty companies have nail polishes available with matching lip colour for whose seeking a totally co-ordinated look, ask at your local beauty counter

Remember it鈥檚 much better to apply lots of thin coats of colour rather that one thick one, it will dry quicker and last longer

Try not to remove and reapply polish more than once or twice a week, as it will dry out your nails. Choosing a remover with built in moisturisers will help limit the damage

A hand massage will boost your circulation and encourage nail growth and is the perfect way to pamper yourself.
For me I rather soak the nails in like medium hot water. Then the gel or the glue melts, and you can take something like a nail file or something sharp but not that sharp and lift the nails up, its not painful. Its very easy to do.
soak them in vegetable oil and nail polish remover. it won't be fast but it will come off easy so it won't tear up ur nails

Which damages less? acrilic nails or gel?

and how to you take gel nails off? ( have them right now)Which damages less? acrilic nails or gel?
Acrylic nails were developed decades before gel nails. They are much more damaging because they often rip off your natural nails or leave them so thin that they can't grow properly themselves. This means that people who choose to have acrylic nails need to keep going back to a manicurist at least once every couple of months.

Gel nails should only be removed by a manicurist, but your nails underneath should be healthy enough that you won't have to replace them with another set of artificial nails.

  • How do you get off acrilic nails easily?

ajsfhaskglasgjkHow do you get off acrilic nails easily?
hate to say it but there is not SUPER easy way to do it. your best bet is soak your nails in acetoneHow do you get off acrilic nails easily?
We have 2 people here so we will both give you ideas

Person1:Soak your nails in Nail Polish Remover and that should soften them so that they are easier to tear off without it hurting.

Person 2: Another easy way is to go to claires and usually they have some fake nail remover just stick your nail into and let it soak and it should just fall off. If it doesnt fall off just kinda yank em and they will probably come off pretty easily.
Soak them in 100% acetone it is has to be pure acetone...or take a cuticle pusher and start from the cuticle and go under the nail use the end that looks like a toothpick and go under until youve worked the nail off. This works better if you're trying to get them off immediately if you have the patience and time do the acetone trick. Good luck
I have acrylic nails and I have had them for years, you can either go to the salon where you got them put on and pay like ten bucks for them to get them off, or you can buy acetone nail polish remover but the very harsh kind that has high percentage it will also say on it that it can be used for removing artificial nails. Put baby oil on your hands and soak your hands in acetone for about 15-30 mins and slowly peel them off, it will hurt a little when you pull them off, but it works !
soak them in warm acetone for about 20 minutes. they turn all gooey and you just rub them off.
You can soak them in Acetone and they will soften
You know it depends on where you got them done as to how is the best way to take them off....

If you got threm done at an ASIAN INVASIAN (a place THAT ARE ALL asians) THEN your pretty much going to have to file that crap they use off because just useing pure acetone won't work. they use metholmethocrylate in their product and that is a DENTAL BONDING AGENT';against state board laws in the majority of the states';I NEVER REFERR ANYONE TO GOING TO AN ASIAN INVASIAN SALON TO GET THEIR NAILS DONE THEY ARE RUDE,AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR NAIL CARE NEEDS THE ONLY THING THEY CARE ABOUT IS MONEY $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$鈥?AND HOW FAST THEY CAN GET SOMEONE IN AND GET TO THE NEXT ONE.

If you got them done in a regular salon by someone who will share with you the name of the product they used on you then you can go buy ';pure acetone manicurist solvent'; , what I would do is get a bowl that is larger than the one you will soak your hand in and put as hot of water as you can in it, then place a smaller bowl inside that one be sure you push the smaller bown down with the weight of your hand to be sure it does not flood over into the littler bowl.

pour the pure acetone in the smaller bowl let it set a few seconds then place your hand in the bowl and let it soak about 10 minutes at first..then pull your hand out and take a cutical pusher either metal or wood one and begin slowely pushing the acrylic off and wipe it on a paper towel you may have to dip your hand in a few times to get the acetone to soften up the other nails, also if your hot water gets cold simply re-draw more hot water into it .

you can use a 100 grit file to help pull it off to just gently run it across the nail bed. After you have gotten all of it off , use a white buffer block sold at sallys beauty supply and buff the nail bed to soften up where you filed, don't do it extensive just to make the nail bed smooth ...then you should use a good cutical oil...solar oil by creative design is fantastic ask a nail tech that uses it to sell you some .

then follow up by a good moisterizer lotion..again creative design..this one I know is sold at Sally's beauty supply, it comes in fantastic scents! good luck !
the easiest - least painful way... but takes a little bit of time... get a bowl - put about 20 marbles in it (the more the merrier) and pour in some pure acetone (cover the marbles) - put your fingers in the bowl and play with the marbles - they will gently rub against your nails and eventually the acetone will eat off the acrylic on your nails. It will feel really weird while it's working but eventually it will work.

I would recommend only doing one hand at a time if doing it at home. This is the way I had it done in a salon... then I went and bought my own stuff the next time so I could do it at home while watching tv.

Otherwise... if you are a picker (which I usually am) I just pick and pick and pick until they come off... I use tweezers... orang sticks... needles... whatever I can get my hands on to pry under the nail!

    Good Luck!
    soak them in acetone

How to get acrilic nails off?

i have acrilic nails tht i got done on monday but i start a new jb saturday and they said they dont allow nails whats the fastest way to get them off. i know acetone and ripping them off work but take a whileHow to get acrilic nails off?
    to whom ever said just cut them short: you can't do that %26gt;.%26lt;

i know this will hurt, but ripping them off is your best bet besides soaking them in acetone. i rip mine off sometimes. the problem with that is that it rips off part of your natural nail, so they look pretty ugly until they grow out. if you rip them off, i suggest you lightly remove the ridges of the nails with a file, then put some oil on them, then paint them with clear polish.

    - xoxo

amoura. How to get acrilic nails off?
Not sure where you live, but this is what I do. Only at Rite Aid you can find a product called ';5 times faster';. It is a plastic container with a plastic brush on the inside and filled with the chemical that melts all types of artificial nails. You can dip your entire hand and do 5 nails at the time. Just soak them in and rub against the brush. It may take time but they will be gone completely and without pain and unnecessary ripping. Good luck!
Buy acetone - any beauty supply store will carry it. It will be by the nail polish remover. Soak your nails, the acetone will eat away the acrylic without damaging your nail bed.
You can go back to the place where you got them done and they'll take them off for you! :]
Back to the nail salon, they take them off and fix up your nails (buff and clean them)
    Just cut the nails short.

Acrilic Nails on Toes , good or bad idea ?

it does not look strange! it makes you look polished and theyre super cute. of course u gotta get m filled like regular acrylic nails, but its inexpensive. i have fake toe nails and i love m. my finger nails and my toenails r french tipped, and its really convienient bc i dont have to bother painting my toenails to match my outfits anymore. i think its a GREAT idea.

get it done...ull LOVE it!Acrilic Nails on Toes , good or bad idea ?
it's a horrible idea for your fingernails, never mind toenails!!Acrilic Nails on Toes , good or bad idea ?
Okay someone just told me that they were going to get acrylics on the toes....I thought bad idea.

I just dont see the point.

I think there could be a greater risk of infection.

    Get a nice pedicure.
I would say DON'T DO IT!!! That is so nasty looking, and why would you do it in the first place? If your toes are that bad that you would consider fake toenails, then you just need to keep them covered up, or go and get a pedicure ever 2 weeks until they look better.
    I think it's tacky.
bad idea, the feet take a lot of abuse being swung around like they are, near table edges and the like. It's bad enough to stub your toe, but to stub it and have your nail be pulled OFF...I'm cringing at the idea.

If your toe nails look that terrible that a nice pedicure won't help, (ie:fungus or warts) try the press on type when you're wearing open toed shoes.
    ewwwww, not a good look
I personally don't like seeing it. Let your toenails grow out and get a really good pedicure.
kinda ghetto unless uv lost a toenail or something. They look claw like
    HORRID
I have acrylic nails and I have seen the toes... unless you have some real toe problems.. I won't bother. It looks strange and you'll have to have them filled every two weeks.
that is a very bad idea cause they grow off your fingers just like they would if you got them on your feet, and they grow off the tip of your toes and you can't just take them off cause the glue would still be on strong and it would hert very very bad%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;........
i think is good and sexy. do it!!!
I've put acrylic on toes before (not my own). usually it's because the nail won't grow or it's severly damaged. It does look strand unless you paint them Most people only do the big toe as it's the most noticable. Personaly I'd stay away from any acrylic. they look cute but the filing and fillins damage the nail.
that would be so damn hot on you where the acrilic about 1inch it would look sexy and wicked hit me back grow them long thats sexy with acrillic

Well for me the first time it didn't hurt during the ';procedure';but later that night i had some discomfort due to the weight of the acrylic. I have had them in different length and the longer they were the more discomfort i had its usually around the cuticle area where the discomfort was. Let me know how it was.Does getting acrilic nails on hurt?
No, it doesn't hurt at all. It's pretty pleasant actually, you'll be fine. lol

  • What's the best way to take of acrilic nails?

there's a relly good product (i think it's by sally hansen) that you can buy at walgreens or a similar drug store that's made just for this. it's a little platic jar with acetone in it. it has little rubber ';fingers'; inside. you just stick you finger down in the ';fingers'; and it helps to pull the nails off after the acetone helps to disolve them and make them soft. What's the best way to take of acrilic nails?

How do you get acrilic nails off?

i got them on last friday, and i pulled 4 off, but the others aren't coming off. i dont want to go back to the salon as it is 40 mins. away. How do you get acrilic nails off?
noooo. dey shud not pull dem off it will ruin your nails luv.,

dey r suppose to soak dem inj acetone solution 4 like 30 mins. How do you get acrilic nails off?
Purchase PURE ACETONE. using nail polish remover with acetone will take forever. Make sure you put the pure acetone in a glass bowl. it will eat through plastic very quickly. let your nails soak until you can wipe some acrylic away, then soak again. keep doing this until they are gone. don't spill the acetone on your table or anything, it will remove the finish. don' tbit them off, this could damage your teeth and nails. OR go to a salon nearby and have them removed, they will go through the same process i recommended.
mine just naturally cume off but if say one gets stuck i keep biting the tip till it cracks in half the get a pai of tweezers inbetween and prize them apart but sumtimes it dus hurt so do it a little bits at a time or yooh cud sit there for four hours soaking your hands in nailpolish remover
im getting acrylics aswell in next 2 weeks because im going to someones wedding but i dont think you should pull it off as it will rip off the first layer of your natural nails. if you go to any salon im sure they would do it for you for about $16
Can you go to a different salon? I think they would do it for a small fee. This is the least painful way i've ever gotten acrylics off
Soak your hands in hot water, (this will soften the nail glue.) Then slowly and gently pull them off.

    Hope I helped!! =)

P.S. make sure to soak your hands in hot water for at least 5 minutes.
Soak them in acetone nail polish remover for a while, it's a pain in the **** process but it does work.
soak them in acetone nail polish remover. this takes a while, but ,it's safer than pulling them off and damaging the nail
i just bite them off i know it semes all dumb but it does is there any other nail salons they will take them off
soak them in acetone... it will turn them into a paste, and just wipe it off with a paper towel

How can you take off acrilic nails by yourself?

You need a good acetone nail polish remover. Soak your nails in the acetone for twenty to thirty minutes. use a wooden nail skewer that is angled at the end. Begin to pry at the base of the acrylic nail, near your nail bed. It they remain stuck pretty strongly, continue to soak them in ten minute intervals.

Be careful not to be too rough pulling them off, the longer that you soak your nails the softer your original nails will get. If you get too rough, you can actually rip or peel off the top layers of your original nail with the acrylic nail.

Best of luck! How can you take off acrilic nails by yourself?
yes, get 100% pure acetone and a nail buffer. remove the polish and buff the nails with a gritty buffer until they look rough, then soak your nails in acetone. you may have to repeat the process a couple times. that is some tricky stuffHow can you take off acrilic nails by yourself?
Buy nail polish remover with acetone in it and soak your nails. Take them out of the remover every couple minutes and scrub them to help them dissolve. It takes quite a while, but it works and doesn't ruin your nails!
you need to purchase pure acetone %26amp; let your nails soak in it, not nail polish remover

I have mold on some of my finger nails I wear Acrilic Nails. Why is that happening.?

What is causing my nails to get mold on them. I am wearing fills.I have mold on some of my finger nails I wear Acrilic Nails. Why is that happening.?
You've gotten moisture trapped under your nails. You should really take them off and give them a chance to air out. Otherwise you run the risk of loosing your real nails :-( Your nail tech can be as sterile as she can but once they lift, it can occasionally happen, that you can get moisture trapped under there. You can find an OTC anti fungal liquid that will help keep it at bay as it is growing out. If it seems to be getting worse, definitely see a Dr.

I worked as a nail tech for 10 yrs and have seen lots of green come in the salon. Let it grow out before putting them back on again.

Good luck to you.I have mold on some of my finger nails I wear Acrilic Nails. Why is that happening.?
Your nails need to have air to breath. Take the fake ones off for a long time and let your real nalis get some air. See a doc about getting rid of the mold.
Yipes! take them off and see a DR, it sounds like whoever is doing them is NOT clean or you're not keeping them clean enough.
its a fungus under your nail. It could be the people that are doing your nails there instruments aren't clean.
You probably have nail fungus. It is contagious and a known nail-salon risk. You have to remove the nails and you should see a doctor. It is hard to get rid of fungal infections. You may have to take anti-fungal drugs.

In the future, you might want to consider learning how to do your own nails. You will save money and it is less risky.
My first reaction was one of revulsion. I'm not a big fan of acrylic nails and this reminds why. I suggest you soak your hands in some serious cleaner, peroxide, maybe even a little bleach. Then I would suggest you go to a reputable salon and get the whole mess removed. Yikes!! Good luck.
get them taken off as soon as possible. how long have you had them on?

i had acrylic nails and had them taken care of every two weeks and did not have a problem. maybe you need for your natural nails to breathe for a while.
omg omg oh my god!!! i heard bout that its dangerous!! u can get sick or have a serious infection even die!! take them off!!!!! and soak ur real nails in a bleach water solution!!! 1 cup water 1 tablespoon bleach!!!! u maybe went to a cheap crappy salon or i dont know but it is dangerous TAKE THEM OFF AND SOAK UR REAL NAILS!! KEEP THE FAKE NAILS OFF 4 LIKE 6 MONTHS! next time make sure they are clean and licensed
Moisture feeds mold. That may be it.
When you apply them, you need to make sure that your hands: nails, fingers, etc; are very clean. You also need to make sure that the acrylic nails and any insturments used to apply them are clean too, and that you allow them to dry fully before washing your hands or doing any activities.

It also doesn't hurt to lay off the fake nails for a while. If you wear them too often the chemicals from the glue can eat away at your natural nails, weakening them.
You should get those taken off right away, there likely was moisture under your nails when you got your fill. Please see a different nail technician as the other possibility is that the instruments your tech used were not sterile. Seriously this could affect your health have them taken off. Make sure the next person you see is licensed in the state you live in.
there might b water trapped inside of it or something that produces mold. when they get like that get new nails
You need to have them removed Now!!! That is very dangerous.Leave them off for at least six months are more.
it might be moisture. and the only real way to get rid of mold is using bleach (i don't suggest u do that). i suggestu get the nails taken off.

Do you think 13 year olds should have acrilic nails?

my mom says i'm to young tot have them, what so you think?Do you think 13 year olds should have acrilic nails?
I think any fake body or beauty products, especially if its as obvious as nails is tacky and unattractive at any age..besides that if you get your manicures or pedicure done at the wrong place you could be in danger of getting a whole host of diseases, just look it up on the internet and you will see thousands of reports..not to mention the toxic chemicals in the glue. If you have trouble growing your nails I suggest Silica, which is a natural remedy which stimulated carotene growth..keep it cool and natural.Do you think 13 year olds should have acrilic nails?
I don't think anyone should get acrylic nails.
She's right. Mom's are always right. My mom didn't let me use nails until i was fifteen!
God made you as you are don't try changing his perfection.

NO fake nails your to young.
I think you should be a little bit older. At the age of thirteen you're just starting to mature. But if you do want to have them anyway you shouldnt get them on that much because that'll thin out your nails.
No, not 13 year old or nobody....Ask a boy your age and he will tell you.

    TAKE CARE
13 is too young to even be wanting to have fake nails. Enjoy being young and real. It doesn't last long.
yeah, your too young, i would wait, i got them when i was 14 for my birthday, and they were hell for me, and its a lot of responsibility to keep up with and pay for being that young, plus it really wrecks your nails, ill never get them done again.

you know whats worse though? when i went to the mall last year i saw a girl about 5 years old with acrylics, why would anyone do that to their little girl? lol oh well just me

but i would wait, or just not get them in my view its not worth the money time effort and sometimes pain
I think 13 is too young to have acrylics because they can be pricey to maintain and can also cause damage to your natural nails. The stick on or glue on styles work ok for short term like for a party or special event. But for the long-term you should try to grow and learn to take of your natural nails. Believe me when you're an adult you will glow with pride when people tell you how beautiful your nails are and you can say that they are natural.
If you can pay for them yourself yer, And keep them neat and have the time to go get them retouched when they chip etc. If not then no.
    yes
    They would look tacky
no! fake nails are for women. grow your own. there is a difference!
If your mom says you're too young, that pretty well settles it.
yea youre too young. and why would you want to? theyre dumb just get a normal manicure..lol
I have to agree with your mom ! Could be very damaging to your nail bed if you do it now.
if you can pay for the upkeep /filling every two weeks and finding your own way to get to the nail salon ALL with your OWN $

    I'd let you
i am a guy myself and i think fake nails are disgusting, in fact i think all fake body parts are. so yes, everyone is too young to use them
Perhaps for a special occasion such as a wedding or school dance. Show her that you are responsible by offering to pay for some or all of the service price.
you are to young. plus why would you want fake ones?
yeah, they look sort of silly when you're too young. Like you're playing dress-up.Acrylics only really look good if they aren't more than about a half centimeter longer than your finger.
I don't think you are too young but you should probably have to find a way to pay for them yourself
i don't think your to young but acrylic nails are kinda tacky looking you should just grow your natural nails and put a nice color on them stay away from fake fingernails. my friend had some acrylic nails and she said it was kinda painful.
I'm 14 and I have never had my nails done. I don't care much for them because my mom always told me to live my life as a young person while I still am because I will regret it if I try to grow up so fast. I don't think I would let my girl get them done until she's 15 (Hispanic meaning of just turning a women).
acrilic nails i suggest for you not to get them because the damage your nails but instead gel nails they dont damage your nails they look prettier too!Hint:I got my nails when i was 11 lol my mom didnt want too but i got them anyways she got over it!
you are too young. it will look tacky and/or trashy.
if it will keep you from biting yours why not,but they should be the glue on kind
Acrylic nails are really bad for your real nails. And yes, I do think that 13 is a bit young to have them...

Maybe you and your mom can compromise. Ask her if she wants to go for a special mom and daughter manicure day, and you can both get your real nails done. A lot of times, that looks much better than acrylics.
I would not let my 13 yr old have those- end of the story.
i say sure, why the hell not? how are you too young? that makes no sense! lol, tell your mom to lighten up. she probably just doesn't wanna see her lil girl grow up! i know my mom wouldn't let me shave my legs til i was 12 cause she didn't wanna see me grow up so fast! so, yea! just coinvince her to let you! hehe! %26lt;3~..alexandra..kelsey..
if your nails break easy like mine do and it causes you distress and your friends comment about how bad they look then i see no reason not to have them except the glue that is used to keep them on is toxic

  • I just got acrilic nails for the first time, how do i look afterthem?

never mess with them, if u wash dishes use gloves. they dont need to be in water forever. watch how u grab things dont bite them when your done eating wash them.acrylics should be maintained every two weeks. its important to have regular fills because if the acrylic lifts away from the natural nail, moisture and bacteria can accumulate between them.I just got acrilic nails for the first time, how do i look afterthem?
you are gonna wanna go to the salon and get them ';filled'; in 2-3weeks or so... depending on your nail growth. when you are ready to take them off... go back to the salon and have them do it. they can really wreck your natural nails.I just got acrilic nails for the first time, how do i look afterthem?
Don't ';pick'; at them. Don't use them to lift or poke things. don't ';lead'; with your nails when opening doors, pop cans ,etc. If you wish to change nail color use only non-acetate polish remover. Once a month get them back filled so they keep that just done look
I think you look really nice. I liked the way you were before but this is good.
I got fake nails a couple years ago, and i was at school and just as i was about to go into class i noticed one was missing,i was worried it might be stuck to my clothing and i would walk around school all day with it on! :)
u loook a lil sluttier, maybe get em a lil shorter.. how's your typing?

How do you take off acrilic nails ?

Tips please ;)How do you take off acrilic nails ?
soak them in warm water for about 3 mins and if not workinq and you dont care how they turn out them soak a nail in for 30 seconds in nail polish remover and it will help if not longer than 30 mins

Should your acrilic nails hurt the first time u get them if u just simplly touch them?

Your nails should never be sore after getting them done! I would assume you went to a budget nail salon and they used a drill to file your natural nails. The reason your nails hurt is because they almost drilled through your natural nail. DO NOT go to those type of salons. Find a reputable full service salon and get a qualified nail tech to do your nails. You can find one by going to www.creativenaildesign.com and click on ';locate'; then ';find a salon';. You will find someone who is trained and certified to use their products and chances are they will take pride in their work and not trash your nails.Should your acrilic nails hurt the first time u get them if u just simplly touch them?
no they should not!! yes they will be a little touchy due to the fact that the trauma the drill places upon the nail beds but if it is what is considered painful then they have drilled the surface of your original nail to deep make sure you keep you hands very clean for the next couple of days also make sure you dry them good if the nail bed has been compromised by the drill then you will be a good candidate for a fungus to set up under the artificial nail hope this has been helpfulShould your acrilic nails hurt the first time u get them if u just simplly touch them?
Yes, mine were always sore the first time. It didn't matter who I went to or how they did my nails, they were sore. It will go away and it will get better.
    probably not
whenever i get them mine are very sore and tender for the first couple days even to just touch them
    nah they shudntt

Is it unhealthy for your nails to always have acrilic nails on?

If people would only realise the chemicals that make up the powder and liquid that go into forming acrylic nails, they wouldn't wear them anymore! There's a reason those nail techs wear respiration masks when they apply and file acrylics... they're POISON!!

Another reason acrylics are bad for you is that a little critter called ';Pseudomoneras'; can get under your acrylics if there's moisture trapped under them. You never know if you have ';the Greenies'; until you either take them off and are unpleasantly surprised, or they get so bad they start to give off a horrible foul odour. If this stuff gets into your bloodstream you can get EXTREMELY sick!! Why sacrifice your health for pretty nails??

If you still feel you have to have artificials, get in touch with the nearest salon that uses a product called ';BackScratchers'; and have them use the ';Stik'r and Kick'r'; method with silk sheer wraps. They are completely clear (unless you get white tips), you can't get moisture or nastiness between them and your natural nail, they're stronger than Gel-style or acrylic nails, they're thinner, more comfortable, more natural looking and you don't have to get fills as often! They may be more expensive for your first full set, but they're better in the long run. No hospital bills!!Is it unhealthy for your nails to always have acrilic nails on?
Yes it's very bad, not to mention expense and sometimes painful when you catch them on something.

The acrylic breaks down your natural nails and is hard on your nail beds. With prolonged use your nails will become brittle, thin and break very easily. Also you are more likely to catch an fungal infection. Is it unhealthy for your nails to always have acrilic nails on?
    MAYBE
It's not necessarily a terrible thing, but it's not great either. I have found that changing my set every few times I go in (about once every six weeks or so) helps a lot. After I had had acrylics for about two years I noticed my natural nails growing in a little funny so I had them removed and left them off for about three months. That was enough time for them to heal themselves and get back to normal.
Yes, because your nails are unable to breathe. I have had gel nails on for...a really long time. About, 5 years, maybe. %26amp; whenever I get them taken off %26amp; get a new set on, they look pretty bad. I tried to leave them off (once in 5 years), %26amp; I can't even handle how my natural nail feels against anything. I am so used to the hardness of the fake nail, that my real nail feels strange against any surface. Needless to say, I put them back on after a day.
Yes. Its bad. The nails can't breathe and become VERY soft. You may find it hard to grow your nails, after you have taken the acrylics off, because they will keep breaking.

How can i convince my mom to let me get acrilic nails?

she has them herself , and i want them for my graduation so i look pretty but every time i ask her shes like no!!How can i convince my mom to let me get acrilic nails?
Do good deeds for a week, and then ask the question and if she says ';no'; you can be like ';i deserve them though';. Blackmail her or ask her when shes in a good mood. Nagging sometimes works so don't be scared to keep asking her. Point out that she has them so why can't you.How can i convince my mom to let me get acrilic nails?
That's because she knows they ruin your nails and are costly to keep up. Do you have a part time job to pay for them and about an hour every 7-9 days to get them done?

I had them for years and off for the last 5 years, my nails are still in terrible shape and wont grow. Think hard before you give in to this vanity. A really good manicure would be better in my opinion.

    Good luck!
they do look really pretty, but they make your actual nail really weak and easily breakable.
tell her that maybe you will pay for the acrylic nails for yourself

I have had both acrilic and gell nails. They start seperate and fall off after two weeks.?

I have them put on in the fall (around mid-november) and stop replacing them in March. I have been to several different shops over the last three years. With the same results at each place. They all tell me that they can get them to stay on and don't believe that they just fall off until I come back for the two week fill and the nails just pop off.I have had both acrilic and gell nails. They start seperate and fall off after two weeks.?
It could be that something in your natural chemistry does not allow the chemicals to completely bond with your natural nail. If they constantly fall off, I'd stop spending the money on them -- keep your own natural nails well maintained and groomed, and with all the money you save you could have some killer shopping trips!I have had both acrilic and gell nails. They start seperate and fall off after two weeks.?
WOW!!! that's odd! I really don't know what to tell you other than that you're either going to the wrong nail shops or your natural nail beds are too flat. I'm not saying that in a rude or derogatory manner but maybe that's why the nails don't stay on...or they are using some sorry acrylic / gel. I've been getting my nails done for about 13 years and my nails last until I take them off. Of course after so many fills, they start to lift....but I've never heard of them just falling off after 2 weeks. Good luck though!
i dotn bellive that they fall of i had mine on for 4 weeks ind it hurt like hell to get them of
Yeah, because your nail grows super fast. You normall replace 2-4 weeks.

  • How do i get these acrilic nails OFF??

i got my nails done and filled a couple weeks ago...but a few of them have cracked so they dont look very good right now. i dont want to go back to the nail salon to pay to have them take them off or whatever. i just want to do it myself..but..its freaking impossible..what do i do?How do i get these acrilic nails OFF??
soak your nails in acetone. They'll come right off. If you don't have pure acetone than soak them in a nail polish remover that has acetone in it. Most removers have it. That will take longer but it will work. How do i get these acrilic nails OFF??
    Chop your fingers off!
Acetone.. soak them in a nailpolish remover that contains acetone, it dissolves the glue and will take your nail off.
I tried finding a way to do that but the best I came up with was working them off bit by bit. Other than that all I can tell you is go back to the nail salon or at least find out what they use to take them off with and see if you can get ahold of it.
you really need pure acetone. it will take the least time. you can get it at a hardware store.
Go to Walgreens or CVS whatever and get nail polish remover WITH Acetone in it. Soak your fingers in it and they will start to dissolve it. It works i've done it.
There is a special acrylic nail remover fo that, you can get it from a chemist . Otherwise fill in the cracks with a nail polish.

Do you know of any ways to take off acrilic nails that doesnt hurt?

Soak them in nail polish remover for a good 5 minutes. That makes the glue really soft and they peel right off no pain involved!Do you know of any ways to take off acrilic nails that doesnt hurt?
soak them in nail polish remover. or you could buff them off!Do you know of any ways to take off acrilic nails that doesnt hurt?
I use this product called FING'RS Artificial Nail %26amp; Polish Remover. It's great. It's a jar filled with salon quality remover and in the middle of the jar is a hole that has a brush. You stick your finger in the hole and let it soak a few minutes, then you move the finger back and forth against the brush. The nail dissolves in the solution. Painless and it doesn't damage the nail bed.
Try soaking them in nail polish remover for a while, it usually helps me take mine off a little bit easier.
let your nails soak in nail polish remover with acetone and they will peel off
im sorry to say this but any way u do it its going to hurt byt this is what i do for 20 to 30 minutes soak them in nail polish remover and then simply take them off with what ever u usually do ..i use those sticks that look like toothpicks but thincker.. good luck
Yes, I have ran into that problem many times! just soke your nails in nail Polish remover for 10 min, and they will come right off. If they are just lose but still hurt coming off then soke then for longer. Warning though your fingers might get a bit pruny!
Soak 'em in nail polish remover.
    just let it wear off
Soak them in acetone nail polish remover. Or go to a nail tech to have them soaked off.
Go back to the salon and they will soak your nails in a very strong acrylic solvent. You can buy it at your drug store and do it at home, but it isn't as strong as the stuff at the salon.
you can soak them in acetone nail polish remover but it would take a while best bet is to go to the nail shop and let them do it for you shouldn't cost from $ 10 to $15

    How much is acrilic nails?

how much do acrilic nails cost? How much is acrilic nails?

i travel allot and every where i go they are from 19.95-20.00$ i have never seen it for more or less then that
No offense to everyone else, but they are getting their nails done in shady places! A reputable salon will charge at least $35-65 to put them on, $25-45 for a fill.
$30-40 to have them put on and then you should expect to pay about $20 a month for maintenance. It also depends if you choose to paint them or if you prefer the pink %26amp; white look (like a french manicure). The pink %26amp; white look will cost you a bit more to maintain.
well i get mine done all the time so...the american which are the french tip should be anywere from 15-18
It depends where you are getting them done.

I go to school for half of the day and I just got them on yesterday.....I just got acrilic nails on and what are some ways to keep them on for a while? ?
I couldn't get mine off when I had them. I think that if you plan on keeping them for a while, just be carefull about breaking them. Go back and get them filled when your real nails grow out some, but after a while they just get brittle and break (at least that is what I am told) I waited two weeks, and had to cut them, file them down, and wear nail polish to hide what was left because they would not come off untill I pried them to the point of taking some finger nail, and after that, I just waited. it took months for the last of it to grow out.

How can I move my acrilic nails without it hurting too much?

first off baby oil isnt gonna do anything..... i wouldnt suggest that you pry them off cause that will hurt and cause damage to your natural nail.... if you refuse to back to a salon to have them soaked off then you are in for a long process.... you need to get pure acetone and pour it in a glass bowl(do not heat up anything--cause you will blow up the microwave)clip the tip off and soak for at least 10 mins and then using an orange wood stick gently scrape the acrylic off and then soak again...continue doing this until all the acrylic has been removed....How can I move my acrilic nails without it hurting too much?
heat baby oil up in a bowl in the micro wave for 45 sec or till warm . soak your finger nails in there . it will loosen up the acrylic . then use a cuticle stick to prey off the nail it should not hurt if you soaked them long enough in the baby oil. you might have to re heat the baby oil a few times . when you get them off use a 4 way buffer it works well. How can I move my acrilic nails without it hurting too much?
    1) Lay down thick towels to protect surface from acetone.

    2) Soak cotton pads or gauze in acetone %26amp; place over nail beds. Protect skin w/ petroleum jelly.

    3) Cover w/ towel %26amp; allow to sit for 5-10 minutes.

    4) Remove towel %26amp; remove softened acrylic by scraping lightly %26amp; filing. Avoid chipping or prying it off. Repeat as needed.

    5) Be sure to do this in a well ventilated area. Allow the acetone to evaporate before disposing of the cotton pads.

Best thing to do is to go to a salon %26amp; have them removed.

I use tweezers or scissors or some really thin but hard metal. I don't peel it off, just simply use it sort of like a spatula %26amp;pry the nails off from underneath (spatula, crowbar, its all the same x.o).
I soak them in nail polish remover and take them off with a nail file...it's thin enough to slide between the acrilyc nail and the real nail and then pop off...

    goodluck!!!

its my first ime ahving them and they have grown out a little and i can see my nail but i dont know if its enough to get them filled yet...please help thank!!!How do i know when i need to get my acrilic nails filled??
You'll need to get them filled about every 2 weeks. You're going to expect to see that little bit of nail growth between fillings. Try to get polish colors that conceal that the best like pinks, and french/american manicures. How do i know when i need to get my acrilic nails filled??
typically you go 10-14 days before having them filled depending on how much grow out you can stand and how often you can afford to have them filled.

nail polish remover works best, i thinkHow can I take my acrilic nails off at home?
Use acetone nail remover. Put it a bowl large enough for you fingers to fit in, then get a bigger bowl fill it with very warm water...put other bowl inside and let your nails soak in the warm acetone.
Yo can go to a salon and have them removed, they will charge you about 10 dollars. If you are set on removing them yourself, then you will need 100% acetone. Place the acetone in a glass bowl. Do not use a plastic bowl as the acetone will eat through it. Soak the nails for about 1/2 hour. At that point you can use a orange wood stick and gentle push from the base of the nail to the top it will slide off. Use a cotton pad and acetone to remove the residual. Make sure that you do a cuticle treatment afterward and wear a nail hardener to help your nails grow back strong and not be brittle.
find some MEK... That stuff will melt the glue, the plastic nail, your finger... Great stuff!
Use an acetone containing nail polish remover. Let it sit for a few minutes and it should come right off
I would suggest cutting them down, and filing, rather than picking them off. But, if you must remove them, go to Sally Beauty, get pure acetone. Put acetone on a cotton ball, place over nail, and wrap with aluminum foil. Let sit, until cotton ball will wipe off nail. Then file any remaining residue. It can cause skin irritation and burns if you are not careful
Soak nails in regular acetone nail polish remover for about 5 minutes and they should start to loosen and melt a bit. However, if I may, the nails underneath will be VERY weak, damaged and thin from the filing done to attach the acrylic. You may just want to file them down short and let them grow off your natural nails. Any nail salon will remove them for about $5.

Keep them covered with some good clear polish and use nail oil to keep them healthy. Make sure you wear gloves when doing the dishes and cleaning with solvents. Then when you get the chance go out and find a good nail tech who wil do manicures for you.

What's the best way to take acrilic nails off?

It's been 2 weeks and the edges have only started to lift on a few fingers... what's the best way to go from there? What's the best way to take acrilic nails off?
The best way to take acrilic nails off is to run your fingers under hot water and the nails will easily come off. But you will need to run your fingers under the hot water for a long time. Also, there may be some glue left on your nails, so just use alchohol to get it off. Good luck! What's the best way to take acrilic nails off?
You should let them soak in water for a little while like 10 to 15 minutes in warm water. they will be easier to peal off.
soak them in acetone, not just nail polish with acetone but straight acetone (you can find it in beauty supply stores and usually comes in a jar). acetone will melt the acrylic off, it can be a bit messy but it takes the acrylic nails right off.
If you don't want to save them, then dip your fingers in nail polish remover with acetone. If you want to save them, then soak your fingers in hot water. It usually loosens up the nails to take them off with no pain.
Most nail techs just ';go at'; the acrylics with clippers and buff off the excess. I, personally, find that too painful. You can soak them off in pure acetone, using a wood pedicure stick to help loosen and remove them. Be sure to put the acetone in a glass container; it will dissolve plastic. It's also flammable, so be cautious. I'd go to a salon and have them soak them, to be on the safe side. It's messy and time consuming to do at home.
the best way to take them off it,soak your hands in acetone, but make sure you have a small towel to cover your hand while soaking it will keep the heat that helps,if you have a small desk lamp also set that above the bowl for more heat.Do not take your hands out for 30 minutes,if you keep pulling them out to check the acrylic will just harden all over again.
    Dip them in acetone.
soak ure nails in nail polish remover till nails are soft.
make plans to go someplace nice. they'll start falling off. isn't that always the way?

I have acrilic nail broke off & is just holding on by its cutical. now it is very swollen, throbing & oozing?

i have been cleaning it constantly with peroxide %26amp; neosporin but it seems to be getting it worse. how do i get it off, it's getting very infected. Do I go to the ER for this?I have acrilic nail broke off %26amp; is just holding on by its cutical. now it is very swollen, throbing %26amp; oozing?
go to the salon where u got it done and ask them to fixit asap or u could call them, if u can't them call the hospital or your doctor asap. c wat he says and make sure u tell him how u have been treating it!! ditch the peroxide though and use a lot of neosporine put a band-aid over it and continue with wat u r doing, like i said, make sure u really take care of it!!I have acrilic nail broke off %26amp; is just holding on by its cutical. now it is very swollen, throbing %26amp; oozing?
I wouldn't go to the ER as it's not a life or death emergency and ER's are over-worked as it is, but you DEFINITELY need to see a doctor if it is oozing as you have infection that needs to be treated by a professional.

And the rest of the nails need to come off as there is some underlying problem that cause this one to get so bad...sounds like a good idea to let them all rest a while.

I'm not ';anti-acrilycs'; as I have them myself, but have never had one get as bad as you. I had a surface infection on one once and removed all of them for 3 months to let everything heal.
At this point, it might be easiest if you went to the ER. Although you can remove an acrylic nail with a nail polish remover, given the state of the nail bed underneath, you probably ought to have it done by the doctor. If you can get into a regular office in the next day, that would probably be the best, lacking that then a trip to the ER is in order. The nail sounds badly infected. Lay off the peroxide, it does more damage to healthy surrounding tissue as it does good. Just apply the neosporin and a bandage, and get in to see a doctor. In the meantime, consider having all the acrylic nails removed and letting all the fingernails heal without them on. If the one nail is this bad shape, the others won't be far behind. You'll need oral antibiotics to get the infection under control before it gets into the nail matrix which actually grows the nail, or you will end up nail-less on that finger.
    go to the doctor woman

next time you get fake nails have them removed at the salon
u need a antibiotic, go to the doctor or to the emergency room because the infection will spread very quickly, and leave the fake nails alone for a while u will only get the infection back if u go and reinjure your finger.

In most areas you have to be a licensed nail tech to purchase any acrylic products. Anything that is quality at least. And I do have to add, it's not as easy as it looks to do them yourself. It takes a lot of practice to do good acrylics.Where can i find the powder for acrilic nails?
you need to go to a beauty supply store or order it from one

but you need a licence to buy from those places

the powder is just the acrylic but you need to mix it with something else
You can buy an acrylic nail kit from any mass retailer (Wal-Mart, Target, CVS, Rite-Aid, Walgreens). If you have a Sally Beauty Supply, you can purchase larger (commercial) versions there. If you know a licensed cosmetologist, Davidson's (now CosmoProf) will have the acrylic powder and activator as well.

one hour max.How long does it normally take to have acrilic nails put on in a salon?
It depends what youre having done, and what state your own hands are in but generally an hour to an hour and a half. If you have white tips glued on it could be 45 minutes but if your nails are severely bitten, discoloured etc then expect longer. If the tech is doing pink and white sculpts its obviously going to take longer than pink straight over white glue on tips etc. I'd prefer a tech that takes a little longer and does the job properly than a chop shop get you in and out in as little as time as possible. You do get what you pay for in the nail industry.......choose wisely.

Run from any salon that uses the electric file (drill like device) to sand away at your own nail, its a chop shop and chop shops tend to use MMA...a banned and dangerous product

you can but not with any nail varnish remover you can buy one designed for acrylic nails if u use ordinary remover the acrylics will disintergrate and melt not good
    No
    yes

but dont like drown your finger

put enough on or else it will loosen the nail
Yes you can but to avoid staining you should always apply a base coat first.
I think you can get a special anti acidic varnish remover which won't stain them, or you can use one but don't drown your finger in it, use cotton wool tips.
oh yeah but you may have to rub your nails a little harder .here is a tip put on some moisturising cream on your hands before using chemicals to take off polish lol
its not so much staining that will be a problem more that it will start to disinergrate them! (with normal remover) putting a dark nail varnish on for a long period will stain them but this will also stain normal nails too.

    use non
acitone will remove them faster, but leave your fingers dry. i would use the acetone, and use lotion for the next day or two. it is quicker, and more precise. you need to soak them though, let them almost fall off on their own. if you pull, it could take your finger nail with it.
    acitone works the best
    Acetone- soak them in it!!
If you are just wanting to take the nail polish off your fake nails use non-acetone polish remover, but if you want to take your nails off then use acetone and soak them in it...be careful not to set it on any furniture that has a stain because it will strip the varnish right off.
To just take the polish off,non-acitone. If you're looking to remove them, then use acitone and soak them for a while.
If you are wanting to take the nails off use the acetone remover. If you are only wanting to change your polish non-acetone. Any acetone in the mix will eat the nail right off of your fingers.
Non acetone, acetone will lift them off!

i dont want the fake tip. i just want my real nails to be stronger. can they put that arilic on? do they even do that? Can a nail salon put that acrilic powder on your nail without the fake tip?
Yup, you can simply ask them not to add the fake tip!

But if you want your real nails to become stronger, don't use acrylic powder. It damages your nails. To take it off you have to dip your fingers in acetone or file it off. Also, it yellows your nails because it doesn't let your nails breathe as much.

Apply a nail strengthener from the store like Sally Hansen instead.

same thing happened to my wife. It depends on how attached the original nail still is. If it doesn't re-attach itself, the whole nail had to come off. don't worry though, it will grow back. My wife had to go to urgent care to get some of the dried blood under the nail released.
